Welcome, Addicts

Who are these guys?

Hi there, and welcome to GunsAddict.com!

I believe a short introduction is in order, so here it is. This website came about very casually, in a series of conversations among two friends over a period of time. Jim and I have known each other for some time, and we became shooting buddies who would occasionally go to the range together, tried IDPA together, shot some trap together, and generally shared some of our shooting experiences with each other. Jim's a hunter, I'm not; I like old, classic firearms, Jim not so much; so we're two different birds, united by our love of firearms, their uses and their enjoyment.

This friendship led to several videos and photos for SigAddict.com, and eventually to traveling together to Shot Show in Las Vegas in January 2014. While our main focus there was for SigAddict, we had several conversations about the site, our personal thoughts on guns, self-defense, and related subjects. While Jim is very focused on Sigs, I am perhaps not as much, having a less brand-centric view of guns and the industry. One thing led to another, and we decided to create a sister site to focus on guns more generally, without the concentration on a specific maker. This led to GunsAddict.com.

Our intent is to provide interesting and useful information (as well as some entertainment) to gun lovers who are more focused on the practical matters of gun ownership and perhaps less concerned with the technical intricacies of metallurgy, or ballistics, or other such complex subjects. A perspective for those of us who have guns for protection and enjoyment, who perhaps wish for less of a specialist perspective on firearms, their use and ownership.

We hope to be able to bring you interesting and enjoyable content, as well as a forum for discussion and sharing, among friends. Welcome aboard, and please let us know what you like or dislike, and what you would like to see.

Happy and safe shooting!
